Volunteers

Rochelle School of the Arts is pleased to welcome parent volunteers in our school. Your commitment to education offers students an opportunity to have the individual attention so vital to their success in school. Polk County Public Schools is proud of the community involvement in our schools. As an approved volunteer, you are a role model for students. You serve at the discretion of the local school and are expected to operate within the boundaries of school board policy. Volunteers assist school staff to provide an enhanced educational experience for students. You are an important part of the total instructional effort.

The security of our students is a primary concern. Volunteers pay a non refundable fee of $25.00 to cover the cost of a Florida Department of Law Enforcement background check. Payment is made by personal check or money order payable to the Polk County School Board and submitted with a volunteer application at the school site. Check with your school and make sure you are not already approved.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at our school, you must first fill out an online application and be approved by the district.

PTA

Membership in National PTA is open to anyone who is concerned with the education, health and welfare of children and youth.  You do not have to have a child in school.  Grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, community members…anyone can join! We need your support to affect upcoming legislation that affects all children.  Let’s work together to improve our school and create more opportunities for our students.

School Advisory Council

School Advisory Councils (SACs) were created by the Florida Legislature to assure continuous progress of Florida’s education goals in each school. The purpose of the council is to work collaboratively with the principal and staff to develop, monitor and evaluate results of the School Improvement Plan.  Meetings are held monthly, or as needed to fulfill the duties of the SAC.

Council membership reflects the ethnic, racial and economic community served by the school. A majority of the members of each SAC must be persons who are not employed by the school. Teachers, support staff and parents are elected to the Council. Community members are appointed by the principal.
